According to Mark and Wendy Lalor, “It’s a great place for a honeymoon. The atmosphere is elegant and romantic and the food is excellent.”

“We decided to spend a week here, before going to Mexico,” said William and Sandra Tavares-Finson, “and we don’t believe that any other hotel could beat the tasteful atmosphere of Grand Lido.”

For Kris and Debbie Bergstrom, grand Lido won their hearts because of the relaxed and easy atmosphere, and excellent service.

All three couples have a number of things in common. They were all married on Saturday, July, and they have joined a growing group of “trendsetters” who are making Jamaica’s newest all-inclusive resort their honeymoon destination. And there is yet another commonality. Two of the brides are former beauty queens.

Mrs. Lalor, the former Wendy Nash, wore the sash of “Miss Jamaica Maja” and represented Jamaica in the Maja International contest in Puerto Rico in 1988. While Mrs. Bergstrom, Debbi Criland, was “Miss Cayman” in 1986.

“Over 10 Jamaica couples have spent their honeymoon at Grand Lido since it last opened in December,” according to Resident Manager, Joey Issa, “and the number has been climbing steadily since June.”

He said that Grand Lido has a natural ambience for couples, 200 deluxe ocean front rooms, and twenty four hour room service.

“We do pamper our guests,” he pointed out, “and for honeymoon couples, that’s particularly important.”
