Joe Issa, 35, has been one our Rising Stars ever since the award program began in 1995, and still continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities. He oversees SuperClubs’ expansion plans, and helped launch a new concept for the company, Breezes Resorts with Camp Breezes. SuperClubs also recently entered into a management agreement of 10 Sonesta resorts in Brazil. In addition, the company launched its Starfish brand, a new concept for cost-conscious travelers that will premier this fall.
Yet Issa’s leadership is not only apparent in his company; his efforts have been recognized by the industry as well. In 1994, Issa won Young Hotelier of the World by the International Hotel Association and was the first Jamaica hotelier to receive such an honor. He has been an active member of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association Council since 1993 and is chairman of the finance committee as well a president of the St. Ann Chamber of Commerce.
