A marathon for funds

A marathon for funds A marathon was held last week in Ocho Rios to raise funds for the Holy Cross Scholarship Committee. The one-mile walk, which started at the Hibiscus Lodge on Main Street and ended at the Docks Restaurant at Fisherman’s Point, saw prominent personalities of the resort town participating.

The Ocho Rios residents supported the walkers with their donations.

Funds raised is to sponsor eligible individuals to attend the Holy Cross University in Massachusetts, United States. The company is already looking ahead to a car raffle and a golf tournament to be held later this year.

Participating in the walkathon were: Howard and Beverly Hamilton, Joe Issa, Michael Belnavis, Rev. Ted Dziak, Kelly Hamilton, Kirk Hall, Devon Evons, Nicky and Sharon O.J., Andrew and Poppie Grant, Summer Jarrett, Paula Thompson and Blair and Lisa Gonzales.
