The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Hon. A.N.R Robinson and Mrs. Robinson were guests at Grand Lido, for one day, during a tour of the Negril resort area.
Mr. Robinson was accompanied by Jamaica’s Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. P.J. Patterson; Noel Slowley, Jamaica Tours director; and Claude Stewart, general manager of the Agricultural Development Corporation Group of Companies.
Prior to having lunch on the terrace at Grand Lido, the party was taken on a tour of Grand Lido’s luxury 147-foot yacht, M/Y Zein.
Prime Minister Robinson, who was visiting Negril for the first time, said that the property was one of the finest he had seen in the Caribbean.
Minister Patterson highlighted the history of the development of Negril, and said that the efforts were being made to maintain the ecological balance of the resort area.
Grand Lido’s resident manager, Joe Issa, escorted the dignitaries on the tour and explained the background of SuperClubs and the development of the Grand Lido.
The party also visited Hedonism II, and met the management and staff of the property.
